Confessions from a Cult Leader

14th October

I accidentally started a cult.

Or, should I say, cults… if you consider the fandom that surrounded The Devil’s Carnival and Repo!

But this time, I mean an actual – – cult…

Well, wait. Let’s rewind and put this in context.

Firstly, this is my blog.  I have been randomly, and not frequently updating it.  This is a home for my thought vomit.  What will follow are my ramblings.  This space helps me make sense on the senseless.  I keep this journal for myself, so in five years I can look back at moments that have moved me and try to better understand them.

20th June

This past week, I jumped off a waterfall, swam in turquoise water, rode in a plane, helicopter, raft, and bus… I battled snakes, faced fears, got blackout drunk.  I hiked the Grand Canyon, rafted the Colorado, played football, beat the camp in horseshoes.  I slept outside for seven straight nights and removed sand from cracks in my body I didn’t know existed…  I was the hottest I have even been, and moments later, the coldest I have ever been. I thought I was going to die, almost did a couple of times, and had an infection so bad that I had to have a tooth removed…

3rd October

On September 28th, The Barrens opened in theaters, and on October 9th, the film expands to  VOD/DVD and Streaming.

It is this writer’s humble opinion that one of the most difficult aspects of being a filmmaker is taking criticism.

There are those out there who will argue YOU CHOSE THIS, so stop being a whiny little bitch, and take it like a man…

Fans make the world go round…

For those of you who have been to Comic-Con, I need not tell you how exhausting and overwhelming the entire experience is.

It is a celebration of all things… well… cool.   Comic books, horror movies, big summer blockbusters, toys, and let us not forget scantily clad Princess Leias.
